Welcome to NSR Watch

Finally a home for me and others to rant and rave about the two biggest pieces of shit in video game history none other then: ea sports ceo (Larry Probt), and ea game producer (James 'KY' Hawkins).
Look forward to many interesting articles as we document the past and future of these dickheads as they screw over the public with there so called "flawless sim to date"
Welcome and enjoy the ride (or roast).

(UPDATE) Is Crazygameworld Being Hosted By Gamespy.com Now? (spoof)

I have tried to check this site once a day every day for the last three days and they are constantly down. Makes me wonder if they are contracting there services through gamespy. You know the company that did NSR matchmaking? (if thats what you call it) Reason I put them together is because the above screenshot symbolizes both of there performance.

Anyhow there real company is some backyard shoe string outfit called MTCO seeing they can't even keep there flagship poster child a float I wouldn't suggest hosting servers there.

UPDATE: Got this from the Aministrator himself

Get a clue there tough guy. Its called a hardware failure. Oh on another note. It's not MTCO's hardware that site is hosted on. Its mine. So once again bashing on something you have no clue about. By the way. Thanks for the link on the side of your website. I always enjoy free advertisement. -crazynutz

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm always in need of "clues".

So when can I expect your website return the courtesy and link back to this website?

Also, How was the last nights beta test and did James Hawkins actually bother to show up?

Hey there are only 4 or 5 Thursdays* in a month and I want to make sure you guys are making the most of them.

* Rumor has it EA is only testing/developing on Thursdays

Stock Brokers Have Coined A New Term It is Called The "NSR Effect".

Very interesting snap shot of Electronics Arts (ERTS) Stock price earlier this year during the period that NSR was released, marketed, hyped, and sold. Kind of ironic isn't it how a direct correlation could be made with "customer approval", "marketing driven hype" , and "stock prices". I wonder if EA is going to nick name one of the dive bomber planes in there next WWII sim "March 2005"?

Wonder what that meeting in Larry Probst office was like in mid march

"guys....any chance we can back outta this NASCAR exclusive yet"?

God, we can only hope.

NSR Watch Check Out What Amazon.com Reviewers Have To Say About The "Most Flawless Sim To Date".

for the hell of it I thought I would go back and take a few random quotes of what the EA regime (paid off advertisers, biased beta testers, whined and dined racing community members) had to say back in Febuary 2005. Then I visited amazon.com to get the true story that can't be bought. I think the the results are obvious.

Paid Advertising - EA Sports

EA Sports has sewn up exclusive rights to develop and publish NASCAR-branded games until the end of the current decade, there's just one place for PC race fans to get their NASCAR fixes. Luckily for all concerned, that place is none too shabby. In its latest stock car opus, NASCAR SimRacing, EA Sports offers just about everything a racer could want (with the exception of a comprehensive printed manual) and works hard to satiate the thirsts of both the action/arcade crowd and the generally more demanding devotees of realistic/simulation competition. It has, for the most part, succeeded. - Gamespot

It's been six years in coming, but EA has finally delivered the goods. They rewrote their physics engine, spent extra long months tweaking and tuning and testing after the console versions shipped. The extra time has paid off handsomely. EA's NASCAR SimRacing has earned its name, and in doing so, it has finally compelled me to free up the space on my hard drive that Papryus had occupied through years of EA's previous attempts to close the gap. EA has not only closed that gap, but they have exceeded Papyrus' efforts in many significant ways, such as the excellent physics model, featuring "drivable oversteer," third-party extensibility, and just about every option imaginable. - IGN

I can assure you that the game will be a great mixture of pappy and thunder. I have read through the forums and found some false statements. Trust me guys, the cars dont go airbourne and fly all over. The game will be more challenging that any other. There wont be any more crazy setups. Setups are very close to accually setting up a real car. Wow guys no one has a clue about the game and only negative comments get posted. I know the developers have busted their tails, working 18 hour days to bring you the best racing game you will ever buy. FYI - NASCAR SimRacing Beta Tester

UnPaid Advertising Amazon.com Reviews - You can't buy this "support"

If your looking for a realistic racing sim, don't buy this one. Even after the patch the computer cars often crash you and themselves durring yellow pace laps. The spotter gives misleading information about cars around you. This is an arcade style game in my opinion and not for the serious sim racer.

Everything the 1 star reviews are saying is true. EA sports has taken a great game and screwed it up beyond words. Buy Nascar4 from Sierra, if you can still find it. It is head and shoulders above this.I know there are going to be some people that don't understand Nascar and say "look at how great the cars look, etc.." but it doesn't matter how pretty it is, if it has so many bugs in it that you can't even play it. If you spent your money on this, and you don't like it, you only have your self to blame. You have been warned!

Don't let the new title fool you this is nothing more then NASCAR Thunder 2004 tweaked and updated. The engine is exactly the same. This game was released as a beta and has not been playble online (as it was advertised it would be). EA has spent 4 months developing a patch that didn't fix anything other then add more problems.
The game was suppose to be the NASCAR Racing 2003 replacement. Unfornately EA spent all there money on marketing/hype lies instead of making a game that can actually be a replacement. Of all the racing leagues on the net. I don't think any of them switched to this. In fact NSR is pretty much a standing joke of the community and gives you a bad taste in your mouth just thinking about it.
EA had there one chance with SimRacing and they blew it as far as I'm concerned. I seriously doubt they will patch this thing up to anything playable (like they promised) and the next great patch will be NSR 2006. I for one doubt anyone is going to be fooled this time.
We didn't like crappy NASCAR Thunder before you bought out papyrus (EAs exclusive NASCAR deal) and we certainly don't like it afterwords!
In closing avoid NSR like the plague

This is an absolute joke of a game. If a car spins and you pass them to proceed to the yellow, you are disqualified for passing a car after the yellow comes out. If you stop behind the car that spun, you are disqualified for going too slow under caution. In other words, if any car spins in front of you, you are disqualified. This is true even with the 1.0.2.5 patch. This game is proof that EA cares about nothing but the bottom line. It is not playable.

It is time for EA to step up to the plate and fix the bugs in this game. EA is more concerned on making Nascar 2006 than fixing this one. They advertised a product that doesn't work with the gaming community and have cost a lot of people time and money. We "ALL" have been USED as Beta testers!!!! Don't waste your money on this crap. I will not buy another game that has EA anywhere on it.

EA has failed once again. If you are looking for a realistic Nascar sim, then do not buy this game, or any other Nascar game from EA Sports for that matter. The graphics on this game are great, but the whole thing is just so unrealistic.I really thought it would be different this time but as always EA does not live up to my expectations.

Two words: it sucks!! I sold mine on eBay and got some money back. EA makes some good games and why they'd put out a stinker like this is beyond me.

This game is not playable, EA Sports did not get the basics right. For instance random black flags, and ejections from races. The online code is horrible. They promised a patch, we got it. It did not fix much. I feel like I donated $40 to EA because I used it a few times and it was not playable. Save your money. Stick with NASCAR Racing 2003, it's light years ahead of EA's SimRacing 2005.

EA has proven they are BAD for gamers. Their exclusive licensing has done nothing but harm gaming for all gamers. This product is a prime example, its outrageously poor.

Yes, the graphics aredisappointing, and the game physics lags well behind Papyrus's NASCAR Racing 2003. But what really takes the cake with this game is the bugginess, especially with yellow and black flag rules. Under a yellow flag, you follow the on-screen and spotter directions, and you will likely get black-flagged for passing someone you weren't supposed to. if you slow down to get in the right spot, you will be black flagged. If there is a wreck in front of you and you pass a wrecked car after the caution - black flag! I tried about 30 times and not ONCE did I finish a race without getting black flagged for some absurd reason. Papyrus figured out how to fix these problems years ago, but the EA monopoly doesn't have to, apparently. NASCAR SimRacing is an absolutely unplayable game and I have sent it back for a refund. Don't waste your time and money!

Please Don't Throw your money away. There are so many errors in the game, it is almost impossible to play till they come out with patches to fix the game. There is major issues with Black Flag and Yellow Flag rules. You can be black flaged for no reason. The Graphics are no better than Nascar 2003. If you don't believe me check out all the sim racing forums and see what they are saying about this game before you buy, and you will see that it is not worth the $40.

Uninstalled this peice of garbage today. This game definately does not live up to the hype. Is it better than Thunder 04? maybe. Is it a realistic Nascar sim? NO. If your looking for a Sim Nascar Game buy anything made by Papyrus Racing Games. From Nascar 4 to Nascar 2003. They are not perfect but they are way closer than this. I really had my hopes up that EA would get it right this time but once again they fell way short. EA has exclusive rights to Nascar Sims now and since there is no competition they don't have to worry about making anything better. I've been racing online for 4 years and playing racing games for several years before that.

As adverttised on the box,the box promises online racing with 43 drivers racing on the same track.(when you race any more than 17 online the flags don't work at all ).The ranking system promised does'nt work either( ex. it takes away points for bump drafting at restrictor plate tracks). As far as leagues go, the league organizers have to call their own flags which most of the time causes a war with players because they missed somthing and which results with players quiting.I bought this game because I wanted a sim racing experience not the arcade kidde version you sold me for 40 bucks. Now everytime i see the EA games commercial i really laugh when they say its in the game because its not in this one.

My name is BOSSDEI, President of DEI THUNDER ONLINE RACING. After 3 months of running a dedicated server for this game, it has issue's that need to be addressed. Our 100+ members are looking for an alternative game until they get it right. Not a future release of the game to fix it.

I'd give it 0 stars if I had the option

EA 2006 Febuary Looks Profitable Despite Lack of NASCAR Title.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Electronic Arts Inc. on Tuesday said its mobile line-up for late 2005 and early 2006 features games based on its "FIFA Street," "Def Jam" and "SimCity" franchises.
The company, the biggest publisher of video games, said other titles set for launch include mobile versions its casual games "Harvest Mania," "Word Whomp," "World Class Solitaire" and "Squelchies."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/27/AR2005092701146.html

hmm...is it possible EA is skipping this years NASCAR scam (NSR, thunder..whatever your buzz word) and using a different strategy to recover from the public being on to them for illegally screwing over the public with NASCAR SimRacing? Although I don't think tiburon makes field soccer or any other games. The fact that they have been ordered to create an Arena football game (released 2 weeks into the season...that ought a be nightmare...marketing driven deadlines always are) leave me to believe. Our patch ain't coming until 2007 NASCAR SimRacing 2 Revenge Of The Text Message

We will still be here you bastards owe us a working game

EA Beta Tester Claims EA Sports Successfully Tested 5 Cars Running With Flags Online Like It Was Suppose To 8 Months Ago When It Was Released!

http://www.teamrtw.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=1141&postdays=0&postorder=asc#top

where the hell does EA get these beta testers? none of them have any n2003 experience and all seem to be the "race controler" crowd. We seen how well the brat pack of nascar thunder 2004 embraced(lied about) this game and what did it get them? lets put it this way..there taking sign ups for n2003 as this is posted. We will watch this copy cat CGW website crash and burn along side tiburon and staff the same way CGW did.

These forthcoming "beta" testers don't get it. Your not helping by spreading EA's propaganda...let EA wipe there own ass and speak for themselves!

James Hawkins 2005 Performance Review Makes George W Bush's Approval Ratings Look GOOD!!

Since EA Sports doesn't hold there Producers to any standards we thought we would. We found this job description from tiburon's website for its very own Producers. So we created a list of criteria to judge James Hawkins fine performance with NASCAR SimRacing all based on tiburon's own standards.

Criteria 1:
Producers at EA are at the center of it all. They're responsible for creating the product vision, producing the game design and overseeing the creation and delivery of our award-winning titles.

Well this officially says..James Hawkins is the sole individual responsible for his projects (such as NSR). So since NSR is a piece of shit. It is james fault..cuz as stated he is "responsible". Makes me wonder what his 'vision' was? Rehash prior years Thunder 2004 Product and spin it as a great new sim to take advantage of the fucking "exclusive"? Seems Tiburon presses its employee's to have "god" syndrom..hence hiring "superheros" advertiment on front page. Tiburon are supermen...get it. I would like to shove a hunk of kryptonite up his ass. oh yes and who are give away all these awards? the paid publishers?...same old shit...say nice things about EA otherwise they won't give us access to there products..funny how none of the independant consumer forums agree with any of there "award" winning views...more bullshit being hand fed from this corperate cess pool!

Criteria 2
As the focal point of game development and delivery, it's imperative that producers have their fingers on the project's "pulse" at all times.

OMFG...'pulse'..this game needed CPR when it was marketed as friggin Thunder 2003...it long has been using a Dead out dated engine (isi motor 1.0) technology and has struggled on PC ever since. 'delivery'..that deserves WTF? so James saying we will recieve 6 patches soon after the release of a beta product...then waiting 4 months to release patch 1 and here we sit 7 months and still the piece of shit is broke is meeting this objective?..Hell No!!

Criteria 3
They explore new products, participate in design reviews, oversee asset production and manage the production of our games.

Whats new about an engine that 4 years old and never worked right in the first place? How can you have a design review when you fired the company that wrote the product in the first place? (ISI)

Criteria 4
They are responsible for getting our games out to market,

Bullshit...the Daytona 500 is responsible for getting the game out to market. The product is a none issue...EA proved they will release a pile of shit if it means taking advantage of public interest. Quality is beside the point.

Criteria 5
and making sure those games are the best and most innovative titles the world.

Hawkins has been playing catch up on the heals of Payprus for years he has never had anything innovative to even come close to touching Papyrus. Only thing innvative he had nothing to do with. His partner larry probts exclusive made NSR the only sim available due to a lack of options thanks to there fucking "exclusive"

Criteria 6
Our producers keep their eyes on the hottest video game market trends and ensure that we're always one step ahead of the competiton.

EA Has NEVER been ahead of the competition in the NASCAR relm...I think the fact that NASCAR Racing 2003 (3 years old) Sells for $150 (like hotcakes) on ebay to NSR $5 (a last resort of recovery) with no bidders usually proves you missed the boat...again (2003,2004 thunder no different)

Criteria 7
The success of our producers relies heavily on their keen sense of where the industry is going.

OMG The Guy is european WTF does he know about american NASCAR

Criteria 8
They have a passion enthusiasm to create the best games possible; games that keep gamers coming back for more!

No, They have the EXCLUSIVE to create a monopoly that gives consumers no choice but to settle for the shit they call a SIM!

Conclusion
This guy is an asskissing piece of shit! In any other company he would of been escorted out the back door the 'hard way' years ago. at EA SPORTS all these qualities are looked as a good thing.
Only in a America!! his customer support is stellar (sarcasm)

Last year we saw james hawkins all over the place..hyping his product doing interview promising support the whole 9 yards. NSR was released we bought it...the support never came...the money was made and as for Mr.hawkins?

He tucked his tail and Hauled ass over to help with MADDEN 06!! WHAT GREAT SUPPORT.

Final Grade: F-

Recommendation: FIRE HIS ASS!!!

EA Attacks France Game Producer With A Hostile Takeover; Will The French Government Wave The White Flag (Like Usual)?

ign: Late last year, an acquisition of approximately 20% of Ubisoft's outstanding stock by EA led to speculation that the American publishing giant was intent on launching a full takeover of Ubisoft. This speculation led to recriminations from Ubisoft executives including Guillemot that the EA bid was "hostile" and appeals to the French government for protection from any impending EA actions.

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/652/652801p1.html

Well ubisoft like so many prior to you; you made the mistake of creating good games and awesome product. A company such as EA takes note of such actions and considers them hostile towards there shareholders. Instead of using this as an inspiration to create even better product drive company moral and consumer interest. They use "backdoor" methods (against you and there own consumers) to insure there bottom line. Why bother with products innovation when you can just strong arm comepetion at will? Thanks for the memories...meanwhile EA customers will continue to be fed..reboxed retitled minimally updated versions of previous games for $50 a crack and nobody can drive them to do any different.

Maybe setup shop in the malaysia next time...seems nobody does anything to stop them dicks.

Tiburon Still Stumped On Patching NSR, Yet Finds Time To Start Another Game!

teamxbox Electronic Arts announced today that Arena Football will be available in stores on February 7, 2006, two weeks into the AFL’s 20th season, under the EA SPORTS brand. Arena Football is in development in Orlando, FL by EA Tiburon, makers of the best-selling Madden NFL Football, NASCAR, NCAA Football and NFL STREET franchises.

EA Supports The War Effort By Shipping Tiger Woods Golf 06 To IRAQ!?!

ameinfo:Computer game publisher Electronic Arts has launched a series of new games that will reach retailers in the Middle East over the next quarter. These include Harry Potter Goblet of Fire, James Bond - from Russia with Love; and the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06.

http://www.ameinfo.com/67557.html

Imagine that EA sports trying to sell golf to a arab. I honestly believe these vulchers would actually try to sell ice to an eskimo. Could this be the first move to pave introduction of battlefield 2? I'm sure our terrorist enemies would find the dessert maps usefull for simulating killing americans. With EA's morals it wouldn't surprise me if they were selling flight simulation software to afganistant back in the 1990s. They will stop at nothing to make a profit Of course any evidence of this has been long covered up by one of those 'corperate bonfires' i'm sure.

Now we all know the true meaning of 'weenie roast' hosted by Larry Probts. I can only hope James Hawkin's weenie will be rosted next!

EA Sports FIRES heir to the throne and other Loyal Corperate Executives

VE3D reports: Electronic Arts today announced the departure of president of Worldwide Studios Don Mattrick, who is a 23-year veteran of the company was in line to follow Larry Probst as EA's next CEO.
Paul Lee, who most recently served as Executive Vice President and Studio Chief Operating Officer at EA, will replace Mattrick as president of Worldwide Studios.
Executive Vice President Bruce McMillan is also leaving EA, the company reported today.
"These promotions and changes also mark the end of an era for EA, with the departures of Studio President Don Mattrick and Executive Vice President Bruce McMillan from our executive team," said Larry Probst. "Both Don and Bruce have made enormous contributions to our company, our industry and to people all over the world who love games. We look forward to working with them again in the future."

hmm..may I suggest this has something to do with EA's sales being down 12%...or perhaps the chairmen has seen the writing on the wall and is taking the "can't beat em fire em" approach. It appears maybe spending all those millions on exclusive deals are starting to catch up with Mr.Probst? Gee big surprise...eliminate the competiton...= no quality standards = pissed off users = less profit. I think a high schooler could tell ya that?...great work Larry...were rooting for that big end of year come back NOT!!

Commited EA TIBURON team can't seem to patch NASCAR SimRacing Yet Finds Time To Relase a BRAND NEW GAME!!

businesswire: REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 2005--Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) announced today that the latest version of its EA SPORTS(TM) branded NASCAR(R) videogame, NASCAR(R) 06: Total Team Control, has shipped and is available at retail stores. With new squad-based racing controls, players can communicate with teammates through the crew chief and spotter, working together to bring home top 5 finishes for the whole team.

Thanks tiburon, you just confirmed what we all knew. you don't give a shit about NSR perhaps? Let me guess.. James Hawkin's between pulling hair out working 16 hours a day trying to fix the game his company is "fully commited" too wakes up in the middle of the night and rounds up all the boys for a casual game of "programing" which spawned NASCAR O6: Total Team Control, how about this Mr.Hawkins "TOTAL TEAM BULLSHIT!!!"
