Welcome to NSR Watch

Finally a home for me and others to rant and rave about the two biggest pieces of shit in video game history none other then: ea sports ceo (Larry Probt), and ea game producer (James 'KY' Hawkins).
Look forward to many interesting articles as we document the past and future of these dickheads as they screw over the public with there so called "flawless sim to date"
Welcome and enjoy the ride (or roast).

NSR Watch Sniffer - Cheat Detection Software Q & A with Lead Programmer Mike Baxster (aka: Brute Force)

I put these together from an ongoing email between me an BruteForce. All answers are his

NSR Watch: Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions Mike.

Not a problem, I am here to help.

NSR Watch: How did you come upon this opportunity to write this software?

I met themanwithoutaface on a random NSR server last February. I believe he and I were racing against the AI in a bristol race. We began to chat about the unrealistic lap times being achieved and issues involving the flags. We exchanged Yahoo messenger IDs and have been chatting on a regular basis ever since. About six months ago he approached me about some help with building a website to chronicle the happenings as he sees them in online racing. What you see here is what I came up with. Around 1 month and a 1/2 ago or so he approached me to help him come up with a cheat detection system to do a good deed for the NSR Community.

NSR Watch: So he isn't as big of a prick as it seems?

LOL...No He is a big prick a lot of the time. I have almost left this project-website a couple of times but we have always worked it out. I don't always agree with him or even like the way he attacks some users, but I understand he is very passionate about what he does.

NSR Watch: Ok enough bullshit about me (themanwithoutaface)...lets get to the nitty gritty. What form of server side protection are you planning to use to prevent unauthorized access to NSR servers?

It is very important to me not to install any sort of library or components that would be considered spyware or trojans therefore I am taking a passive approach and utilizing standard windows dlls to put up the firewall.

NSR Watch: So the client side process slow down my PC?

It will use as little processing power as possible that can still maintain a good security base and a optimal performance. Most users run lots of processes in the background and are never aware of it. The windows task bar is notorious for this and It would be a safe bet that the client would never equal any of those.

NSR Watch: who will determine the security levels per a individual server?

The server admins will be able to use the server side editor to force clients to strict or loosest standards as they see fit. In fact they should beable to exhange their config files between servers while they "tweek" to a standard. I and the manwithoutaface are not cheats so we will leave it up to the server admins to create the definitions.

NSR Watch: that sounds like a bitch to code.

It is...but anything for the community...LOL

NSR Watch: Will your Encryption be acceptable to packet cloning?

No, I have come up with a "rolling code" technology so the same encryption will never be used twice on any server. Spoofing isn't going to be possible.

NSR Watch: how do you address those in the community that have labeled you a hacker in disguise?

I fully encourage outside sources to examine our products and draw their own conclusions. I think the software will speak for itself.

NSR Watch: Is Mr.Hankey really necessary?

You tell me you are the one that told me to put it their :)

NSR Watch: Thank You Mike, anything to add?

Yes, if anyone has any suggestions comments or anything feel free to contact me at mikebaxster@gmail.com as I am willing and ready to always help sim racers.

I'd be interested in experimenting with this Mike. So unlike patch 2 for NSR, I take it this actually exists and will be seen? I'll send you an e-mail. Anything for some realistic lap times. LOL

What are those folks gonna do when they can't turn a 1:09 at Watkins Glen? he he

Tired of waiting on you know who and hearing "it's coming, we're working on it, we tested this week" horseshit. I guess you are aware Sim Racing was on shelves 9 MONTHS this week.

was it still on anyone's shelf after march?

I can't believe people will fall for this. Brute Force...wow isn't that the name for a hacking technique? I call BS on this ......
